Kiros is technically a prince, but because his family lost their power long ago when they were conquered by the Empire, he no longer has any right to use the title. Some in the realm still refer to him as such, but never where those loyal to the Empire might hear it said. As a way to finally "end" the former royal line of Wild Shores and totally absorb it into their own, Kiros's daughter -- his only child -- is married off to the Empire's crown prince.
